3 Hacks To Boost Your Productivity

My clients call me the freedom fixer - and some say I seem to have magic powers when it comes to finding them the perfect elite VA.

But no matter how good I am, there’s one thing I can’t do (yet, anyway 😂) - I can’t give you more time.

What I CAN do though is help you make the most of the time you DO have. Which is the next best thing 😉

As the CEO of an elite VA agency, it’ll not come as a surprise that my top recommendation to boost productivity is to bring in VA support to complement what you and your business needs.

However, for a VA to be the most effective, it really helps to have great systems and processes in place so the following tips are great for every business owner, whether you’re bringing in a VA or not.

Let’s dive in to how you can boost your business productivity!

Prioritise the important stuff, delegate or schedule the rest...and learn how to tell the difference

There will always be another fire to put out. Always someone wanting your attention for an “urgent” chat. Always an unexpected interruption.

And for those of you who are natural ‘givers’, it’s hard to step back and filter out the things you MUST do versus the things which can wait, or can be passed on to someone else.

Next time someone interrupts with something urgent, ask yourself if it really needs to be done by you. And if it does, does it have to be right now?

If you’re not used to doing this, it can be tricky at first but like any muscle, it gets easier with time.

Keep practising and try out some of the methods in this great post for more methods of prioritising, and soon enough you’ll be a pro!

Work on your organisational skills

Not all of us were born with the organisation gene and I understand that most people don’t get the same kick out of being organised as I do 😂

But with organisation, comes a great productivity boost.

Even if you’re not naturally organised, keeping your work area sorted will save you so much time. No more rummaging through papers looking for the one you need, losing the pen you could swear you just had in your hand, or getting distracted by the clutter rather than focusing on the work that matters.

Focus time

Most people have heard of focus timers such as the pomodoro method but there are so many methods available.

You just need to find what works best for you.

Every time you get distracted or interrupted from a task, it can take up to 25 minutes to get back into the zone of what you’re doing. And those minutes VERY quickly add up!

Whether you operate a “doors closed” policy for set times during the day, switch the notifications off on your desktop (and phone!) or you implement timers, giving yourself dedicated interruption-free time will make a bigger difference than you would imagine.

Over to you:

Which one of these hacks will you give a try this week - I’d love to know how much more you manage to get done. Let me know in the comments below!

All my best,

Selina
