Keep Your Biz Going Strong Over The Festive Season
Unless your biz is in retail or hospitality, I'm betting that things are slowing down a little for you over the festive period.
Your customers are winding down for the year, the Xmas parties are in full swing and thoughts are quickly turning to spending some precious time with loved ones - well deserved time after a busy year!
But even though there are only a few weeks left of 2021, that doesn't mean your biz has to suffer.
How do you keep the wheels turning in the last month of the year while also making time to enjoy the festivities yourself?
I've written in the past about how you can take time out of your business most effectively…
...but how do you make the most of the time you have BEFORE you take that time off?
Read on for my top tips for a fruitful festive season.
Set Clear Business Hours
If you haven't already decided on your holiday biz hours, make that a priority. Not only do your team need to know, but your customers need to know when you're going to be available (and when you won't!).
Decide when you're closing, and share it on every single platform you can between now and then!
This gives your customers plenty of notice and prompts them to get in touch early if they're likely to need your services.
Plan Ahead
If your goal is to take time off over the festive period, there's no way around it - you're going to have to squeeze the same amount of work into less time.
Now's the time to sit down and be honest with your diary and what needs to be done:
what needs to be completed before you close?
how long does it take?
who else (if anyone) could help you with it?
Start filling in the days you have left and bring in help where you can. Even if you don't usually plan your diary to this level, you'll be surprised to see how quickly your remaining days get full - this exercise will stop you from accidentally over-committing yourself!
Keep Marketing
Lots of business owners start to wind down their marketing over Xmas, under the impression that clients aren't going to be in a position to buy.
In fact, you should keep going with your marketing efforts all the way through December to protect against a slow January.
We know that the start of the biz year can be a little slow - keep your marketing game strong and walk right into a successful January.
Reward Your Team
This is the time of year where you get the best chance to say 'thank you' to the team who have helped you make 2021 a success - and there are a load of amazing ways to show your appreciation.
I love these ideas for some inspiration.
Develop Your 2022 Plan
As the end of December draws near, it's the perfect time to reflect on the successes and challenges of 2021 and make positive changes, goals and strategies for moving forward.
I'll be sharing some of my best goal-setting tips in my blog later this month (so keep your eyes peeled for that!) but if you want my eyes on your business, you can always book a free game plan call with me to see how we can work together for an amazing 2022 - book yours here!
Closing Thought
Don't take your foot off the gas this close to the end of the year, you'll be amazed what results you can still bring in with just a couple of weeks to go.
What would you like to achieve before you finish up for the year? I'd love to know in the comments.
