Still Doing All The Things in Your Biz? Here’s How to Stop…

When you look at your to-do list, how does it make you feel?

Does it make you feel overwhelmed, stressed and anxious?

If so, I bet you’re stuck in the cycle of doing All The Things.

Everything comes to you to be actioned:

  • Client work.

  • Lead generation.

  • Client retention.

  • Business finances.

  • Admin work.

  • Sending the post!

But you’re the CEO – you shouldn’t be the Chief of EVERYTHING.

If this sounds like you, you’re on a fast track to overwhelm and possibly even burnout. (How do I know? Because I've been there!)

And while there are a few great ways to help you deal with overwhelm when it hits…in my experience, the best defence is to stop it in its tracks.

So HOW do you stop doing all the things in your biz?

You have to delegate.

WHAT tasks should you delegate?

This is one of the most common questions I get asked by clients – they don’t want to feel like they’re just offloading all the “boring” tasks onto their team.

I have a simple rule to follow when you’re deciding what to delegate. Ask yourself the following questions about a specific task:

1.       Do I love doing this?

2.       Is it profit-generating?

If the answer is NO to either (or both) of these questions, it’s time for it to go!

Give it to a skilled member of your team, allow them to take ownership and free yourself up for the things you DO love and that DO bring in profit. (I love this article for ideas on great profit-generating tasks in biz.)
