3 ways to take a break and boost your productivity
We’ve all been there.
So - you sit at your desk, get your head down and don’t resurface until hours later when you’ve made some headway.
Right?
Actually - it’s time to take a break. Yes, really! Take a look at my top 3 ways to disconnect from your work and boost your productivity.
1. Set your timer
Experts advise that you take a break from your work at least once an hour - so set your timer on your phone for 52 minutes, and get to work. Commit to giving the task your undivided attention until time is up - LinkedIn scrolling and responding to emails are strictly off limits!
For even better results, try batching your tasks together by category or client and watch your productivity soar.
2. Get outside
Try to take your breaks outside whenever possible. Not only will the fresh air re-energise you, but the complete distraction from sitting at your desk will help to empty your mind before you return to your computer to begin the next task.
3. Make it productive!
If the thought of completely disconnecting from moving the needle forward in your business is too much to bear, that’s ok! Whilst it’s important to take a break from the immediate task in hand, try making the most of your time by using these rest periods to upgrade your mindset with inspirational podcasts or motivational YouTube videos.
What’s next?
I know how unnatural it feels to step away from your desk when you’re up against a deadline - but trust me! This tip revolutionised the way I work in my business and fast tracked my productivity when I needed it the most.
So set your timer, find the style that works for you and never look back!
